I differentiate my outdoor photography from the others by trying to keep my camera in it's bag until I'm a fair journey beyond any road. My outdoor photography, then, could be better described as "backcountry photography". These are the vistas and mountainsides that few people will see in their lifetimes, so I like to think I'm capturing something that most would not bother with. The journey is where the value comes from. I sell my most marketable photos as stock photography on Shutterstock.com. Not all of my stock photos can be considered backcountry photography, but such is the nature of stock photography.
