There is an excellent trailhead right off of I-70 in Summit County that takes you well back into the solitude of the Eagle’s Nest Wilderness. The trail is called the North Tenmile Creek trail. This trail is popular both in summer and winter, as it is a gentle climb into a beautiful wilderness area. How to get there: Take I-70 west to Frisco exit 201. Turn right into the parking lot as you come off the exit. The trailhead is at the back of the lot.
The tracks that I have included follow the trail from trailhead to the intersection with Gore Range Trail. From that trail junction you can turn left onto Gore Range Trail to Uneva Pass if you like. My tracks from the trailhead to Gore Range Trail junction cover 7.3 miles roundtrip.
